Starlancers are recruiting again, having joined up with Mordus Angels Alliance in a return to the merc biz.
We Offer
A 0.0 base Plenty of opportunity for PvP within an alliance with a solid reputation Friendly, experienced and skilled corpmates One of the coolest corp logos around
We Want
Pilots with experience, or at the least an active interest, in the 0.0 PvP life A reasonable amount of combat oriented skill points People who are self sufficient Industrial pilots are also welcome however
We Expect
A committment to be based in 0.0 before advancing through Starlancers ranks A reasonable committment to corp and alliance activities (though never at the expense of rl)
Application Process
In the first instance you should visit our public channel 'Bar - Lancers' and hang around chat to the folk there. Ask questions, find out about us from our friends, make sure we're the kind of corp you want to be a part of.
If you can't catch a Starlancer when you're around mail me and I'll try to catch you, or get someone in your timezone to convo when you're around.
You should do the above and talk to a corp member or three before making an application. Applications made before talking with current members will be rejected out of hand.
After spending a few days in the Bar, we may ask you to put in an application at our HQ. This is a 0.0 based office and serves as an initial indication of your willingness to be out in lawless space. You will also be asked to provide a current screenshot of your character selection screen and your wallet transactions as a precaution against alts and spies.
We'll look forward to hearing from you

Hey Finn One of the things members often comment on is the high return rate in Starlancers. People move on, try other things, seek new frontiers, and then frequently come back to the fold. Either we're doing something right and Starlancers is a place people feel happy in, or it's the high grade, addictive drugs I sneak into their pod's feeding tubes

One skill set we're currently interested to recruit is system scanners. Particularly for when cloak ships become scannable, but also to help us pressure a local contingent of ISK farmers who require to be strongly urged to relocate (after we've relocated their corpses to a can at the door to our home system )

I'm proud to announce that today, 19th June, is the first official Starlancers 'Phoenix Mulderdart Day'.
Phoenix has been a stalwart of Starlancers Corp from its inception as defenders of CIC, as well as in Freelancing Corp's PvP wing before that. His dedication, friendship and humour have strengthened our corporation from its early days of 4 inexperienced pilots learning the hard way, through the halcyon days of leading 30 strong CIC fleets, into our rebirth as mercs in empire and 0.0, and beyond - even after he decided to stop playing.
It's people like Phoenix that make Eve such a special place to spend our time, and it makes me immensely proud to be a part of a corporation that attracts people like him.

And we're growing, making our mark, and getting plenty of action. So whether you're looking for your first taste of 0.0 or a veteran of lawless space on the hunt for new horizons, come and look us up.

Indeed, if it's quiet we're probably just out blowing people up, or looking for people to blow up, or talking about people we just blew up or, just possibly, being blown up ourselves But say hi anyway.

You see - skill, experience, camaraderie, 0.0 access, plenty of PvP and as much naval trivia as you could ever want. What more could anyone ask for of a corporation?

Hehe It's like the man said - 'It is a principle of the art of war that one should simply lay down his life and strike. If one's opponent also does the same it is an even match. Defeating one's opponent is then a matter of faith and destiny'. Well, faith, destiny, and friends with big guns at your back

Nuala takes the mic, puts on his best Cheshire accent, and launches into song ...
There's forty shillings on the drum To those that volunteer to come To 'list and fight the foe today Over the hills and far away.
O'er the hills and o'er the main Through Pure Blind, Fountain, Curse and Stain The call to war resounds this day O'er the hills and far away.
When duty calls me I must go To stand and face another foe But part of me will always stray Over the hills and far away
O'er the hills and o'er the main Through Pure Blind, Fountain, Curse and Stain The call to war resounds this day O'er the hills and far away.
If I should fall to rise no more As many comrades did before Then ask the fifes and drums to play Over the hills and far away
O'er the hills and o'er the main Through Pure Blind, Fountain, Curse and Stain The call to war resounds this day O'er the hills and far away.
Then fall in lads behind the drum With colours blazing like the sun Along the road to come what may Over the hills and far away
O'er the hills and o'er the main Through Pure Blind, Fountain, Curse and Stain The call to war resounds this day O'er the hills and far away.
Loved that show - rewatching it again at the moment too
Oh, and Linkage with one more for good measure Over the Hills and Far Away

I should note, for those given to be over-literal, that the regions mentioned are mostly by way of the rhyme and not a statement of intent (though you never know where the tides of war might take us ), and that, no, you won't actually get a shilling when you join. It's unfortunate, but there you go

Better than that - Starlancers will be celebrating our second birthday at the start of September, in honour of which we'll be holding a little raffle for corp members and friends. There'll be prizes, music, dancing, silly hats ... we may even have ice cream and jelly (or jello for the people who insist of being from the US )

We're happy to announce we've recently joined Insurgency Alliance, with an attendant move to a new region which should be more lucrative both in terms of isk making and opportunities to shoot folk

Edited by: Nuala Reece on 02/09/2007 11:49:35 Hooray for us - Starlancers Corp is 2 years old today
Personally I'm so pleased to have been a part of this corp, to have watched it grow from humble beginnings, defending Freelancing Corp from pirate and griefer attacks, into an independent, solid and competent crew of 0.0 pvpers - friendly, dedicated, humorous and fun And I'm honoured to have been considered suitable to sit in the CEO seat. It's been a fun ride so far and looks like being every bit as much fun in the next 2, 3, 5 or more years to come.
Everyone who's been a part of setting up and leading Starlancers deserves thanks - Elwe, Ess, Args, Coupe, Phoenix - as well as all our members past and present, not to mention those from Freelancing Corp and CIC who supported us in our early hamfisted attempts at PvP - Paul, Ratty, Az, Turq, Star, OW, Max, Ynaig, Lans, Murton, Shar - all the folk from Forces of Freedom who gave us our first home in 0.0, the folk from MOA who gave us our second and the folk from Insurgency who we're flying with currently. And, of course, all the willing and less than willing pirates, mercs and ne'er-do-wells we've been able to hone our skills fighting against - Bella and Ja5on (our first real fights), KIA, Hybrid, Spiced Wine Syndicate, Letter of Marque, Agony, Triumvirate, You What?, Phalanx and all the others. And anyone else I forgot to mention or chose not to because they might not want to be publicly associated with a bunch of do-gooders
Eve's stayed my favourite waste of time for 4 and some years because of all the people who make it so fun, exciting, busy, challenging, addictive, frustrating, rewarding and downright bloody dangerous every day of the week. Long may it continue
Oh, and we have a new recruitment video too Linkage

So, you've been browsing the recruitment forums, seen the Insurgency Alliance recruitment thread and liked the sound of them, but don't think your corp would want to move? Fear not! We're still recruiting, and we're already flying with them - come and see us.

Things are moving up in the north - plenty of chances for combat are there already and look to increase in the future. We're keen to increase our numbers in order to further strengthen our alliance.

Word of warning - the new season of heroes has started so our public channel may once again be full of fanboy talk from me and ria while everyone else groans. This will be a regular event every Tuesday or Wednesday for the next, oh, 30 weeks or so. Don't be afraid to interrupt if you come looking to talk about recruitment - the others will probably be more grateful than words can express for the break. Just don't be surprised if, among the usual 'what do you like to fly?' and 'what pvp expeirence do you have?' questions you also are asked 'and what's your super power?'

no exotic dancers?
We can do better than that - our exotic wombats are second to none. They have skills that you've only ever dreamed of in your wildest, most extravagant marsupial related fantasies. Drop by our headquarters and Argors (Wombat Pimp Extraordinaire) will arrange for a personal, one on one meeting with the kind of small furry animal your mother told you never to talk to ... if you know what I mean <wink, wink>
Oh, and Heroes update - is it wrong to think Nichelle Nichols is still sexy even though she's now in her 70's?
Oh, and, er, join our corp today!!
